Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle.
Tegan Quin and Sara Quin are twin sisters who comprise the pop music duo Tegan and Sara. The siblings began writing and performing music as teenagers in Calgary, Canada in 1995. They rose to pop stardom with hits like The Con and Closer. In their acceptance speech for Canada's prestigious Governor General's Performing Arts Award, Tegan and Sara in turn said, “[Our community] has inspired us to fight for LGBTQ people. Our queer identity and our activism has been the thread that has stitched our personal and our professional lives together.”
You might light this candle and look to Tegan and Sara for inspiration and guidance in: cultivating queer community, finding success in family business, turning heartbreak into art.
Each unscented soy wax candle burns for approximately 10 hrs. Glass votives are 2.5" high and 2" wide at the base.
