Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle.
 
T-Boz, Left Eye and Chili were ahead of their time. They were crazy, sexy and not too cool to be sex educators, using condoms as accessories to start conversations about safer sex. They gave us power songs about following your dreams and not changing your body to fit what somebody else likes. They talked about AIDS and alcoholism, keeping it real in an industry full of songs about money and rides until the death of Left Eye ended the group all too soon. Rest in power, Left Eye. We’ll never forget the time you set your abuser’s shoes on fire — keep givin’ em hell wherever you are!
