Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle.

George was once best-known for his role of Hikaru Sulu on Star Trek, but now he may be best known for his facebook posts on everything from gay rights to riddles. A survivor of a childhood in a WWII Japanese-American internment camp, George has been an outspoken advocate for sexual, racial and gender justice. He has taken an active role in politics, running for LA City Council, he cast the key vote leading to the creation of the Los Angeles public transit system, and more recently he’s been a spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign.

You might light this candle and look to George for inspiration and guidance in: sci fi magic, manifesting racial justice, mainstream liberal appeal, surviving childhood hardships, being funny, widespread popularity, executing a vulcan salute

Each unscented soy wax candle burns for approximately 10 hrs. Glass votives are 2.5" high and 2" wide at the base.
