Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle. 
 
Sally and Gillian Owens are fictional characters played by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in the 1998 film Practical Magic. The sisters are part of a lineage of witches and are raised by aunts after their parents' death. As adults, Gillian asks Sally to help her leave her abusive boyfriend, Jimmy. During their exit, Sally kills Jimmy in self-defense. The sisters resurrect him, but he becomes violent and Sally kills him again. His spirit haunts the sisters until they gather all of the women in their town to exorcise him and break their family curse.
 
Candle is hand-poured with soy wax and burns for approximately 10 hours. Glass votives are 2.5in high and 2in wide at the base.
