Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle. 
 
Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) are fictional characters on the TV show Heated Rivalry, based on a book series by Rachel Reid. They are professional hockey players who have a years-long, intermittent secret romantic entanglement while playing for rival teams. The show is known for its erotic scenes and exploration of queerness in professional sports. It is also celebrated for representation of identities not often portrayed in mainstream media, in Ilya as a bisexual Russian, and Shane as a mixed-race autistic person.

Candle is hand-poured with soy wax and burns for approximately 10 hours. Glass votives are 2.5in high and 2in wide at the base. Each votive is affixed with an opaque sticker with an image of a person and on the opposite side, a translucent sticker with biographical information about the person. Stickers are water-resistant.
