Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle.

Freddie Mercury was an award-winning Parsi-Indian and British singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist for the rock band Queen, with whom he co-wrote six #1 songs. Freddie wore extravagant outfits and was known for his larger-than-life stage persona and a four-octave range. Freddie had romantic partnerships with people of multiple genders but never publicly labeled his sexuality. Freddie died in 1991 from an AIDS-related illness.

You might light this candle and look to Freddie for inspiration and guidance in: Crafting a stage presence, protecting your privacy, or loving up on cat companions.

The candle is hand-poured with unscented soy wax and burns for approximately 10 hours. Glass votives are 2.5in high and 2in wide at the base.
