The colorfully printed metal in these earrings comes from a vintage tin tray, box, or canister that may have once held cookies, candies, or tea. Philadelphia artisan Devin McNutt of Saffron Creations collects these beautiful objects (second photo) from thrift shops and estate sales, then carefully cuts and shapes their metal into unique jewelry elements, adding ear wires and fittings in either sterling silver or 14/20 gold fill.
 
The result is a lightweight, limited-edition accessory that gives a new life to these homewares of yesteryear. Because these tins were once used as functional household items, please expect minor surface flaws like scratches or dings.
