Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle.

Kate McKinnon is a comedian best known for her characters and celebrity impressions on the TV sketch show Saturday Night Live. She is SNL's first openly queer woman cast member. Kate is known for creating characters that lovingly poke fun at stereotypes of queers and feminists. She says, “As minorities, we’re on the fringe, and there’s just something so wonderful about that perspective, something so inspiring. If you’re part of that minority, you can make fun of those people while respecting them and lifting them up.”

You might light this candle and look to Kate for inspiration and guidance in: Creating feminist comedy, embracing the weird, getting rid of ghosts.

Each unscented soy wax candle burns for approximately 10 hrs. Glass votives are 2.5" high and 2" wide at the base.
