Baltimore artist Allison Fomich creates silver, copper and brass jewelry with fossil-like impressions of the natural world. Specimens gathered from nature are pressed between sheets of metal in a rolling mill, a process similar to how flattened souvenir pennies are made. A patina is then added to darken the metal in the impression left behind. The resulting jewelry is earthy and unique, yet simple, versatile and timeless.
