Megan Rapinoe is a world-renowned soccer player for US teams. She holds multiple Olympic medals and FIFA Women's World Cup wins. Megan is an Ambassador for Athlete Ally, a non-profit focused on ending homophobia and transphobia in sports. Megan gained media attention at a 2016 soccer match for kneeling during the national anthem in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. She stated, “Being a gay American, I know what it means to look at the flag and not have it protect all of your liberties. It was something small that I could do.”
