Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle.

Whitney was an actress and one of the best-selling recording artists of all time. Like many gay idols, she struggled with self esteem, relationships and addiction which she ultimately succumbed to at 48. It was rumored (and confirmed after her death) that she had a fluid sexuality and had a physical/romantic relationship with a close female friend. Regardless of her own sexuality, Whitney’s music continues to be embraced by queers who appreciate her lack of pronoun usage, especially when we Wanna Dance with Somebody Who Loves us!

You might light this candle and look to Whitney for inspiration and guidance in: Femmifesting the Greatest Love of All (self love), rocking a fancy gown

Each unscented soy wax candle burns for approximately 10 hrs. Glass votives are 2.5" high and 2" wide at the base.
