Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle.
 
Jonathan, or JVN as he’s known to fans, is best known as the grooming expert on the reality show Queer Eye. Jonathan identifies as gender nonconforming, saying, “Some days I feel like a man, but then other days I feel like a woman. I think my energies are really all over the place.” JVN is known for his femme sensibilities and messages of fierce self-love, hard-won after navigating sex and drug addiction and being diagnosed with HIV in his twenties. On sharing his story, he says, “I want people to realize you’re never too broken to be fixed.”

You might light this candle and look to Jonathan for inspiration and guidance in: fighting back against femme-shaming, creating a self care routine, supporting yourself or others harmed by addiction.
