We make bath, body, and home products using all-natural and certified organic ingredients.
I started out making cold processed soap, bath salts, and lip balm with a friend of mine about 10 or so years ago and never stopped. I have super sensitive, allergic skin so making my own bath and body products was a great way to make sure I was controlling what I was putting on my body.
My husband and I started Volta Organics three years ago and have since expanded the line substantially. We are constantly working on new projects and formulas and responding to our customer base as best we can. Some of our best selling products came out of suggestions from loyal customers.
My background is in fine art but at some point I began to start getting interested in all things plants. I started painting plants and signed up for a couple of herbal medicine workshops, which culminated with a two year intensive study at The Herbal Therapeutics School in Washington, NJ. My teacher is a Cherokee herbalist who studied Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as Eclectic Medicine and a wide range of medicinal plant applications in cultures across the globe. Although Volta Organics is primarily focused on the cosmetic application of plant ingredients, the process of carefully choosing what ingredients are used in our products and how they are sourced is very important to us.
Plants inspire me! Working with natural ingredients is challenging but to take information about a plant and its benefits and transform it into something people use and enjoy is so rewarding.
